When it comes to Japanese bondage, gote is one of the most popular ties. Usually tied at the beginning of a session, it can be performed in many different ways. However, as Westerners, most of the time we perceive it as 'the main body harness that I'm going to tie for suspension'. There is also a wide availability of education about how to tie it technically, covering a wide range from early traditional to modern bondage. In this class, Kurogami and Shiawase will talk about gote in traditional Japanese bondage. Going deeper, they will describe gote in terms of aesthetics and meaning, offering to the attenders a different point of view and a different reading key. When does the gote start to be tied? Why do we tie hands in the back of the model? What's the meaning we give to each rope we tie? Gestures: why are they important? What's the importance of the right timing? How can the same pattern be so different from time to time? After an introductory speech, Kurogami will offer a demo, tying the gote. Please, consider that nor the speech or the demo will be or include technical explanations. After the demo, there will be a Q/A moment, in which attendees can ask question or share comments with the presenters.
